1) Mistreated by Trenitalia and snubbed by Italo: Vicenza is more and more isolated
The alarm came from Antonio Dalla Pozza – town councilor for urban planning and sustainability – after a meeting between the local administrations, Trenitalia and the regional councilor for transportation, Remo Scagiotto, at the end of July: «Vicenza has already lost the train to Rome and is nearly losing the one to Milan».
Trenitalia’s decision to suppress all the fast interregional trains between Venice and Milan has already costs a lot to the passengers, in terms of time and money. In a few months, to reach Milan from Vicenza you must go to Verona and take the Frecciabianca train, with a sensitive tickets’ cost increase. Furthermore, also Italo – the unique train competitor – contributes to worsen Vicenza’s isolation from the main Italian centers. Italo’s trains are now stopping only in Venice and Verona along the route to Milan. Italo’s press office has affirmed that: «We are new in this sector and we just have two main routes, even if we are planning to expand them. But in this moment we cannot say when we will provide a stop in Vicenza, due to business choice».

2) 2020 cycling world championship in Vicenza: it’s possible
The organizing committee of Vicenza and Colli Berici’s cycling world championship received an important and strong support from Giovanni Malagò – Coni’s president – at the end of a meeting held on September 3rd, in Rome. During the meeting, the committee presented its project that aims to involve all the town surrounding areas, such as Colli Berici: an ideal place because its itinerary possibilities and the beautiful landscape frame. The layer Claudio Pasqualin has explained that: «This meeting is very important: we received the national sport authorities support and we completed a compulsory task in order to present our candidature to Uci». Even if the assignation is communicating in 2016, from the next year the economic and politic practicality will be verified. For this reason, during this autumn, the committee will meet the local institutions and the business world to get their support in organizing a 160M euros event.

3) In Veneto: 150 mountaintops in one day
To celebrate its 150° anniversary, Cai Venteo decided to reach simultaneously 150 mountaintops in one day, September 8th. Cai Veneto has already announced that numbers overpass all the expectations: 174 mountaintops are going to be climbed, almost 1800 people are going to be involved and 64 regional sections are going to be represented. For this reason Francesco Carre – Cai Veneto’s president – has announced that: «We all are confident about Cai’s future. The numbers express the attachment to our initiatives; participations are increasing and now we just need a sunny day». The mountain ascension will be as simultaneous as possible in order to light on an orange smoke flame at midday, when all the group are supposed to have reached the top.     Â
