1) Hunger strike handover against the large use of cement in Veneto

The committee for the defense of Area Berica and the committee for the defense of Orgiano and Asigliano’s territory started an hunger strike handover from September 4th to 6th in order to protest against the large use of cement in Veneto. The two committees continue Don Albino Bizzotto’s protest against the environmental emergency in Veneto.

The town council of Marano Vicentino is involved too.

The aim is to denounce not only the environmental impact of Valdastico highway, but also the numerous building projects which are affecting the whole province of Vicenza: gravel pits, street tunnels, power plants which steal ground from the agricultural sector, etc.; projects that usually are approved by connived public administrators.

 

2) Vicenza’s courthouse, Moretti: we call for money from the government in order to complete the transfer

Alessandra Moretti – former town councilor of Vicenza and now PD national deputy – has made herself the spokesperson of Vicenza’s town administration in front of the minister for justice: «We ask clear directives to the minister of justice and to the national government about the new courthouse in Vicenza. Almost 500m euros are necessary to make the courthouse running. We propose to allocate the money as soon as the government will discuss the stability law».

 

3) Variati holds off the Del Din’s nets cut: an illegal action

Achille Variati has commented the action accomplished by some protesters against Del Din military base: «In a democratic regime, battles should be won with legality. Cutting the nets and entering the base mean break the laws and commit a crime». For this reason, Variati has decided to communicate his distance from this kind of dissent expression.
